COVID-19 Update 3/23/20
DRFortress Responds to Stay-at-Home Emergency Orders
As of Monday, March 23, 2020, at 4:30 p.m. HST, the mayor of the City and County of Honolulu is ordering all individuals to “stay at home and work from home” which will continue through April 30, 2020. This does not affect certain essential activities including DRFortress’ services as a designated Critical Facility and Service. We will, however, ensure that all staff members whose positions allow them to work from home, do so.
Our number one priority remains the safety of our staff and customers while continuing to provide uninterrupted mission-critical technology to support the emergency communication infrastructure of Hawaii and the Pacific. In addition to the measures discussed in our previous customer communications, we have noted that physical visits to the data center are decreasing, and our Crisis Management Team has elected NOT to implement an appointment/emergency-only entry policy yet. We believe social distancing can be accomplished based on the size of our data center, the airflow patterns and the visitor numbers we have analyzed.
Please understand that we have no choice but to turn away individuals who have a fever, cold or flu-like symptoms. If you are symptomatic and need access to our facility, please arrange for a proxy (you can authorize entry via our 24/7 secure web portal) or contact us for remote assistance. DRFortress is offering reduced rates for daytime workday remote assistance to accommodate customers during this time.
Again, please remain assured that DRFortress’ systems are designed to continue to provide services automatically without human intervention. As part of our data center readiness, DRFortress continues to closely monitor the rapidly developing events globally and locally. We will continue taking proactive and appropriate action as needed and keep our clients informed of any significant changes.
