DRFortress Meet the Team: Millicent Perreira-Gilmore

“I love working with the team at DRFortress. Everyone is dedicated, supportive, they have positive energy and belief in the words ‘clients first’.”

A graduate of Chaminade University in Honolulu, Millie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. After college she spent seven years at GTE Hawaiian Telephone, starting as a telemarketer and then a business account manager before becoming the manager for the telemarketing team.

After GTE, she took a position at Lumen (formally known as Oceanic Communications, TW Telecom) as a Sales Account Executive. She again rose up the ranks to an account manager and then to a sales manager before making her final career leap to DRFortress.

She says one of her favorite parts of her position is the opportunities to attend The North American Network Operators’ Group (NANOG) meetings. She says NANOG offers opportunities to meet other industry professionals to share technologies, best practices, and challenges. The meetings give her the chance to connect with her peers and share the DRFortress story.

“I enjoy going to NANOG every 3 months, meeting new people, explaining to them ‘why DRFortress and Hawaii’. I like focusing on bringing in the content providers and carriers into DRFortress to support the Hawaii market.”

Outside of her role at DRFortress, Millie enjoys spending time with her family and is an active member of her son’s school. She serves as the PTSG (Parent Teacher Student Guild) President where she works to enhance a positive experience for her fellow board members and students.

Millie resides in Kailua with her husband George, their three children, a dog and a cat.
